Getting your dog house-trained does not happen overnight. It’s commonly done after your dog has aged a few months. As do other mammals, young dogs go through an adjustment time, getting used to life outside of mommy’s womb.Bowel and bladder control is not innate in canines; young pups can’t hold it as long as the adults.
It’s impossible to monitor your puppy’s activities all day and all night but you need to make sure house-training continues even when you’re not there, therefore, you need to learn to do it the passive way.
At this point, read more with this article on Tips on How To Stop Dog Chewing.
While You Were Not Home.
The best way to continue your pet’s training even while you were out is to do paper training. Here’s how to do it:
Assign one room in the house to be the puppy-toilet room. When you’re about to leave and be gone for hours, leave your puppy in and lock the door.Lay papers on the floor to cover the whole area.Be sure you leave him in with everything – food and water bowl, bed and toys.
At first, you’ll be cleaning after your pet a lot as he will soil the entire room.Be patient. Clean up and lay new sheets when you arrive. In a few weeks, your puppy will show obvious preference for a small area on the floor to poop on.When you can clearly see which area your pet prefers, begin removing some of the papers.

Begin removing the pieces of paper opposite your dog’s preferred poop spot.Proceed deliberately, removing an inch or two of the lining, toward the dog’s preferred deposit spot.Soon, you need only a few sheets left on the floor. When you’re dog’s poop ends up outside the papered area at some point, it means you’re going too fast.Line more paper back the next day so that you again leave your pet with a wider spot to poop on.When you only have to leave one or two sheets on the floor and your pup is reliably doing his business on it, it’s time to begin moving that poop paper to where you choose.
Slowly move the sheet of paper toward where you want your dog to do his business.Inch it daily toward your spot, just like you previously did when removing sheets of paper from the floor. If poop ends up beyond the paper, you know what that means; move it back to where it was last.Restart the exercise and proceed as usual, until the paper is where you choose and your dog demonstrates he only poops there.
Some problems are Typical.
Be patient when passively housebreaking your pet.If your pup shows to be going back to old habits, don’t worry too much.Just revert to putting more paper on a wider area.
