When he lies down, does your elderly dog find it dificult to get comfortable? He has always been quite happy sleeping on an old blanket in the hall, or next to your bed, or just outside the bedroom door. But now he keeps getting up and moving round before lying down again. An orthopaedic dog bed could make his life a whole lot more comfortable.

Dogs will sleep on anything, and generally will not complain. Newspapers (particularly those being read) are particularly popular and an old sweater is also favoured, but as a dog grows older, arthritis can creep in (just like humans), their legs start to ache as does their back, and at this stage, it is time to think of a more comfortable bed. This is where orthopaedic dog beds come in.

No-Fail House Dog Training Guide

Orthopaedic dog beds are usually made from memory foam, some are crumbled and some have whole memory foam, most have a waterproof breathable lining. This can be incredibly useful if your dog has a weak bladder or is given to drooling. If your dog has bad health then you should always take advice from your vetinary surgeon, and especially if he shows any signs of having back, leg or any other joint pain.

It is not only elderly dogs who appreciate orthopaedic dog beds; dogs who have recently had surgery will recover much faster if given a comfortable orthopaedic bed to lie on. Orthopaedic dog beds can aid recovery of joint sores where those have developed, and prevent development of them.

There is no reason why your dog should not sleep in the usual place it does, be it the kitchen, the hall, your bedroom or the landing, when it starts to become too uncomfortable sleeping on the floor. Give him an orthopaedic dog bed and see the difference it makes.
