One of the biggest problems every dog owner has to go through is learning how to stop excessive dog barking. It's the sort of problem that will annoy you, your neighbors, and it could threaten your dogs life. What can a frustrated dog owner such as yourself do? You can train your dog and you can learn to understand it's needs better.

A dog will bark for all sorts of different reasons. Your dog could be barking because it needs to go to the bathroom, out of boredom, or seen another dog. The real point is to find what the cause is. When you know why your dog barks it will make things easy for you to train it and to take the right actions.

For example, if your dog is barking because it wants outside the simple solution may be to let it outside. Once that is over your dog can relax and stop it's barking. Of course it could be barking at something outside. But the point is that you have to address the situation head on.

Any dog that is bored needs to spend more time on walks, more time playing, and more time from you. It should not be shocked just for being bored.

A great way to get your dog to stop barking at your command is to simply make a noise that gets it's attention. Some people like to do this by putting something in a cane or bottle and then shake it. It might be just as effective to blow a whistle or squirt water towards it.

Barking At Your Neighbors

Allot of dogs bark at the neighbors. If your dog does this then you should try to introduce your dog to your neighbor. As your dog gets to know your neighbor he or she is less likely to bark at them. Be sure that your neighbors are not teasing your dog when you are not there.

As you can see learning how to stop your dog from barking is something that you can do. All it takes is a little time and patience.
