Tip 1:The first thing you should do is check for any signs that your dog is distressed. Ensure that he is not distressed as panting, wheezing and poor appetite can all be symptome of this. But these are just some of the signs you can see.By speaking calmly to your dog and stroking it, you can reassure it.
Tip 2:Using punishment on a distressed dog is not a very good idea, as this can make the dog even more distressed until the point where you might not be able to control or calm your dog. One of the best ways to handle your own feelings of frustration is to avoid giving the dog any attention at all for a while, ignore, don’t punish.
Tip three:If your dog is going on hyperactive or anxious mode it is not a good idea to give them any attention whatsoever because by doing this you are rewarding your dogs behavior which will only cause it to get worse very quickly. If your dog is calm, then is the time to give affection and rewards, not when he is in bad behavior mode.

Tip 5: Give your dog a lot of exercise to reduce the levels of energy that he can create. Whilst exercise regimes vary according to the type of dog you own, they all need time outdoors to run a bit wild and experience this. This will not only reduce the animals anxiety but also teach them to be more sociable.
Tip 6: Your dog may well not be the best behaved when you are out of the house and in order to lessen his anxiety in your absence you can try the following exercise. Take your keys or bag and leave the house, wait a minute or so and then return, and greet your pet. Repeat regularly so your dog gets used to you leaving as he knows you will return.
Tip 7: By making sure that your pet has a place that he knows he can relax, his anxiety levels will decrease as will his behavioral problems, but if this space is in the garden, ensure it is safe.
